Two years ago, Jacqui Finley put on the musical Grease at EAS. There was a high level of student involvement and she has decided to put on another musical this year. This year’s play will be the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This musical is the story of Joseph, Jacobs’s favorite son. Joseph’s brothers resent Joseph and plot against him, selling him to the Ishmaelites. The entire story is set to various styles of music. The music of the play was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the lyrics were written by Tim Rice.
Earlier in the school year the students audition for their parts. Many students got main roles in the play. The main role, Joseph, is going to be played by Jason Hager and the narrator part will be broken into three parts to be played by Perri Shanko, Shelby Taylor, and Maddy Payne.  Other roles include Josh Granucci as Pharaoh and Javier Torres as Potiphar. Many boys will be playing the Sons of Jacob with solos by Austin Garecht, Javier Torres, and Christian Rice.
The participants in the play are trying to make the production very big and spectacular this year and are in need of a lot of help with the cost of the play. In order to pay for the sets, costumes, and props, the cast members will be selling tickets as well as advertisements in the bulletin. If you would like to have your business advertised in the bulletin, you can come into contact with a cast member or Jacqui Finley.
The musical will have three showings: the evenings of May 16, 18, and 19. We would love to have the support of the community, so please come out to see the play and bring some friends!

UPDATE: The science fair was a great success! There was a high attendance and the projects went well. The crowd got the chance to look at the many various projects set up by the 7th-11th graders, which varied from how to make ice cream or cheese to optical illusions to running an electrical current through a pickle. Some of the students brought animals such as a horse, goats, geckos, and peacocks. The seniors and 6th graders had their Rube Goldberg Machines on display which is where the major traffic of the event went. The attendance also included a journalist from the Mountain Democrat who was taking pictures of the many various projects. Overall the fair was a great success for all of the classes and teachers! Thanks to all who came out!
